PSA: This is based on my experience with the PC version of the game, according to /r/TitanQuestAE the console versions are buggy but are being patched, so just beware.Titan Quest Anniversary Edition Is an adventure role-playing game that takes the player to ancient Greece, full of mythological creatures and Gods. I definitely plan on coming back to it, and from my time with it i'd give this game a 7/10. I wont lie, it took me about 2 or 3 tries to finally sink my teeth into it but once I did I couldn't put it down until I completed the story only to go back to GD for a bit before starting the next difficulty again. Especially if you're a fan of Diablo 2 or Grim Dawn. I especially enjoyed the theme and lore, set in an ancient Greek setting, you must fulfill your prophecy and vanquish evil but you slash across Greece, Egypt, China, Hades, and Norway (Norse mythology) in the process slaying anything that is in your way.Īll-in-all if you're looking for a classic RPG or just want a break from one I highly recommend it. Besides that it's just what you'd expect from any ARPG since Diablo 2, clicking and hotkeys. The class I played was a Warrior + Dream master which combined becomes a Harbringer (who i named Ajax) this class proved to be fun by proccing special attacks and the dream skills looks nice visually. Like I mentioned earlier mechanics wise it's basically kind of a regression but it's not terrible at all (GD just has so much more polished QoL changes) and it looks pretty decent for a game released over a decade ago.
If you are a fan of GD I highly suggest playing it through at least once because it's actually kind of fun. Story wise there's nothing that connects the two games (although I like to play with the idea that Titan Quest is set in the same universe years apart lol) you can still feel like you're playing a less polished version of GD with the way the game plays/mechanics work. As a long time ARPG and Grim Dawn fan with over 200 hours, Titan Quest is basically the precursor/prequel to Grim Dawn. The old /r/patientgamers Essential Games ListĪfter 45 hours sunk into this ARPG I have finally completed the campaign, both both expansions, on normal.
